Op. Demon's Run, Pt. 3

Finally.

The last day.

Time to burn the last tower.

I logged in at about 6 am to remove the final reinforced tower. All its' guns are dead, no ECM is online, and all of Insidious Design is offline. Beautiful. I couldn't ask for a nicer way to finish this. I have online people provide hole after we roll all open holes. Wasn't in the mood to get back door'd, not when we were this close. Everything is shut, people are on the new wormhole giving cover, it's time to end this.

I pull the moros up to the final tower. Its' name is REDEMPTION. All capital letters, all the time. Because CAPITAL LETTERS means that IT'S AWESOME. Or you've been playing too much Borderlands 2. To be perfectly honest, I would have rather have used the Phoenix for this. The phoenix only has a few uses, up to and including shooting structures, shooting capital ships, scanning, and rolling holes. When I originally left Insidious Design, the last ship I had to pull out was my phoenix. Since I had pulled out all my other ships before, I was unable to really scan a way out, and Rover refused to help me scan a way out. I had to keep my Phoenix out in a friendly POS in system. Two weeks was the total time I had to wait to get my phoenix out. Two whole friggin' weeks. I was a bit mad, and when I left (with the assistance of some Insid members that I'm still cool with), I vowed to bring my phoenix back in some day.

Back from the tangent, I'm in the moros still. The least I could do is rename it Broseidon in honor of my ship that couldn't be with me. I siege up and start hitting the tower. Turns out some of the guns were put online, but nothing I couldn't handle. So I sit there and just keep hitting the tower, stopping only to get more ammo and stront. Eventually a second dread logs on and helps, but I ask him to let me have the final shot. Closure, if you will. We let the guarding fleet get some shots on the tower in and then they went back to the hole. I keep firing and then...

Boom.

The tower explodes gloriously. It felt good. Really good.

Wait, what's that anathema over there?

Seems someone forgot to remove it. I hadn't killed any actual ships this weekend, so let's just kill it.

Blap.

I don't care what anyone says, that's my favorite kill mail at the moment. It just looks so silly, but right.

After that, we just proceeded to orderly make our way out over a few days. The operation was a success. Insidious Design lost a lot of ships that weekend.

...most of them self inflicted.

Still though, it was good closure. I was ok with it. And now we've moved on to more fun and exciting things.

Like stealing a thanatos from a pos and receiving a Vindicator from it. Like a super awesome slot machine! I'll tell you about that one next.

Blue probes, going out.
